Taking a quantum leap into the future

Anglicare Victoria (AV) has gone through a rapid technology transformation over the past five years, recognising the power of modern IT tools and systems to transform the way we work in the online and digital data world for the better.

Strategic investments in digital infrastructure and security protocols enabled AV to continue to deliver services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, which proved crucial as school closures and job losses disrupted lives.

The transformational journey in the investment and implementation of new tools such as online content libraries and an organisation-wide, coupled with an Electronic Case Management System (ECMS) have delivered significant benefits. Frontline workers in the online digital world can engage with families ‘in the moment’ with real-time electronic access to all their information. Case workers have digital pathways to share AV resources and complementary services with practitioners. And across our teams AV is working more efficiently than ever by eliminating paper-based record capturing and reducing duplication of manual effort.

“Fundamentally, technology has provided a more effective and richer client engagement,” says Dean Mills, Director, Information Technology Services

AV workplaces are also transforming to become hubs of collaboration. Our teams can come together via interactive audio visual / video conferencing technologies to interactively engage in dialogue to work through the problems community members are facing and workshop solutions together.

AV continues to focus on technology solutions to optimise service delivery solutions to support families, young people and children.

When the COVID-19 pandemic derailed in-person learning, the resourcefulness of AV staff allowed them to “FLOAT”, by creating Flexible Learning Online with Anglicare Teachers. The one-on-one educational support that students had come to rely on was made available online, so that all students could access the tutoring, resources, and stability of the TEACHaR program even while learning from home.
