TRAK Forward – Therapeutic Recovery for Adults and Kids

TRAK Forward is a therapeutic program that supports recovery and healing for adults and children who have been impacted by family and intimate partner violence. We believe that safety, meaning, empowerment, and connection are essential for recovery. TRAK Forward offers a dedicated therapeutic practitioner, group-based family and intimate partner violence recovery programs, peer support recovery groups, and parent/child therapy. TRAK Forward’s person-centred interventions strengthen connections and relationships between parents and their children, empower adult survivors to make meaning of their experiences, and provide families with an opportunity to develop mutually supportive peer-based relationships.

TRAK Forward uses a trauma-informed relational framework that recognises both the short- and long-term impacts of family and intimate partner violence on individuals and families. The short-term aim of the program is to increase coping skills and safety, regain confidence and independence, repair attachment relationships, and reduce social isolation. The long-term aim of the program is to transition participants from these more specialist supports to other support systems, as part of restoration and recovery.

TRAK Forward provides free services designed to help individuals and families to feel empowered, to be heard, and to have a voice in their own recovery journey. Our programs are funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and Family Safety Victoria.
